Letter To Myself 10 Years From Now

Letter to self in 10 years

Dear Christine,

Today we were asked to ‘List what we would like our life to look like in ten years’. The thought of envisioning the future, while everything is still so new will frighten you. A new home, new job, new city, new boyfriend. A lot has changed in the last year. And although it’s scary, it’s important to be clear. It’s important to be honest. And it’s important to fully embrace your desires without shame or reservation. Own that shit! Own the Amazing, beautiful life you have in store because it’s yours and you can have it all! Change is inevitable. We will no longer spend precious hours in fear or hesitation. Today is February 4th, 2027. Today you are 38 years old. Let that sink in. You are so very blessed to be alive and full of universal energy! I have such warm wishes for you.

You started your fitness journey at a young age, allowing you to age gently and gracefully. I bet you still look 10 years younger. This has always been a perk of ours. That handsome man you married- Even after all this time, I know he still cherishes you inside and out! There’s always been something strangely perfect about the way he fits into our world. Wow! How wonderful the ceremony must be! Oceanside with a soft breeze gliding through your hair. I can feel it now. Savor every moment with centered awareness. This moment is all there is. A lifetime of travel and personal-growth with him seems pretty, fantastic to me… “I can’t wait to marry you!” Because you are both mindful minimalist your home will reflect your values. Cozy, effective, safe and fitting. Fruit trees, a flourishing garden, our backyard haven – I get excited simply thinking about it!! Our lifestyle and financial goals will have blessed us with more than enough so we can in turn, bless those around us.

We will be parents. Carrying our children in your belly will be a miracle of purpose and of strength. A lesson you long to experience in this lifetime for the sake of embracing the wonders of the divine feminine. I like how this letter was originally addressed to me but flowingly became we. Two wholes uniting as one. We will be successful in our business endeavors because we love what we do. We can work from anywhere and we do. Travel is essential to our growth and pleasure. Life is always getting better! We are continuously becoming better versions of ourselves. Committed and in love.

It almost feels selfish to write such a beautiful life into existence. Always remember you are worthy of all this and more! It is our destiny to be loved by me. To be loved by all. Embrace that.

Love you forever and everrr,
Vilma Christine

Love Letter: How We Met

I remember the first time I saw you.

Standing in line with your friends. The sweetest smile beaming across your face.

I stopped dead in my tracks.

I’d never felt that before. Breathtaking beauty in the eyes of a stranger.

A few drinks later, I found myself standing in front of you gushing about Star Wars and Dragon Ball Z. To think I almost didn’t go out because I didn’t have time to change what I was wearing. It was the Star Wars sneakers on my feet that opened an abundance of dorky topics.

I was so excited to talk to you, I forgot about that intimidating smile of yours. I had to be near it!

We exchanged snapchat accounts and a year went by. A year of random hellos. Until one day in June, after hours of texting, you asked to call me. You caught me off guard, introducing yourself in a silly voice, I was instantly filled with laughter! We stayed up all night talking about business, finance, the universe, paranormal events, cutting edge science and all things challenging conventional thinking: including health, food, plant medicine, relationships, goals and dreams. I had no idea the depths of your soul. I wanted more.

I’ve never met anyone like you.

A love at first sight connection combined with an intelligence exceeding most.

I’ll always love you for sharing your world and mind with a curly-haired girl you met one day, at a party she almost didn’t go to.

2016: What I’ve Learned

A letter of reflection to my younger self:

Loyalty can become slavery. When your job of almost eight years fails to see your worth… leave. Leave and don’t ever look back.

You know that ongoing fantasy of abandoning your hometown in search of like-minded people? You will do exactly that. You will find your community… but they will only make you miss your family and friends back home.

When a ticket to Burning Man magically appears… pack your bags and hit the road! You will cross paths with many wandering souls. These connections will affirm you made the right choice.

This will be the decision that changes everything. This is when your eyes truly open. Every moment proceeding this will look/feel like a dream. You are the creator of your reality!

Ride your bike into the dessert alone. You won’t be able to see a single thing but you will feel true freedom in solitude.

Play in the giant ball pit with the married couple from Dallas, the dude look alike and the traveling french man. Join the dusty pillow fights and laugh hysterically until you cry. You’ll become seven years old again. Time travel IS possible! Hell, anything is possible.

Black Rock City will LOOK and FEEL like you are on freakin’ Tatooine. Star Wars galaxy dream come true! The sunrises and sunsets alone are enough to leave you breathless.

From Lake Tahoe, to Yosemite, to The Redwoods, to a week long Hot Springs tour – you are witnessing nature’s natural, untouched wonders. Soak up every vibrant color, sound and fragrance!

Drive from LA to San Francisco to pick up a traveling German en route to the same yoga retreat you’re attending. Meet the people already living the life you desire. You are the company you keep.

Remember when you used to attend festivals for the music? Not anymore, you’d much rather spend your festival days learning about permaculture, alternative economic systems and listening to hactivist lectures. A rob0t is born 😉

You are not a vegetarian. You are not a vegan. You are not a raw foodist. You are a person- listening to her body, doing her best for the planet and all earthlings as a whole. If someone resists your lifestyle, let them. This game of labels will only bring about judgement. I promise you will inspire more change through love and acceptance, over fear and attack. Continue inspiring others with your life and food choices. All change, even in the slightest amount is a step in evolution.

“You’re selling yourself for so much less than you are worth, right now.” These words of raw truth will haunt you, in a good way. Always remember your worth, Vilma Christine.

Relationships are mirrors. Your greatest challenge will come to you through reflection. Forgive and be grateful it happened.

Marry a man you would be proud to call your son.

You will realize how closed off you’ve been with partners in the past, Never fully present. He will teach you to break down your walls and finally be the open book you’ve always aspired to be. He will be your biggest lesson. Your greatest teacher. But he will not be your happily, ever after.

We don’t just have one love of our lifetime, we have many. Soulmates come in different energetic forms and circumstances. Lovers, parents, children, friends. Some are only meant to be with us for short periods. While others will prove lifelong connections. Love without expectation.

Your sister and best friend will fly all the way to Los Angeles to visit you. An act of love even you can’t comprehend. This is your family. This is where you belong.

It will happen quickly and may seem like it’s too soon. But he will match your weird and share your vision. And truth be told, you fell in love with him long ago. “There’s so much I want to do with you.”

It’s the end of the things you know.

Here we go…

Weekend Getaway: Vancouver, Canada

2016-12-01 04.18.11 1.jpgI don’t know how it happened… one minute we’re looking at photos of a beautiful suspension bridge park and the next minute our flight is booked for Vancouver! Is this real life? I’m not sure if I was more in Awe of him or the breathtaking views surrounding us! It must have been a mixture of the two. You know that feeling you get when you’re too excited to sleep? I didn’t want to miss a moment with him ❤ December 2016canada-32016-12-16 06.30.25 1.jpgProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetcanada-5img_0253msrob0t canada.jpgimg_0385img_0398img_0419-1img_0422-2canada-6img_0430img_0469canada-61

2016: A Year In Photos

2016 was such a transformational year for me!
Last August I made one of my lifelong dreams come true… I quit my job, packed up my life and left Texas! It was a hell of a bumpy ride but one of my biggest lessons in self-discovery. Some teachings simply don’t happen if you stay in one place for too long. Seeing the magical Redwoods in person and driving up and down the coast was absolutely breathtaking! I was in complete Awe hiking Yosemite and relaxing in natural hot springs along the way. I remember asking myself, over and over, “How can this be real?!” BEAUTY not only in nature but WITHIN me! The feeling of FREEDOM and LIMITLESS POSSIBILITIES!
I’ll be sharing what I learned soon but for now, here’s a peek of what I was blessed to experience in 2016…

2015: What I’ve learned

letter of reflection to my younger self:

Becoming vegan is a choice. Seeing what’s being done to the animals will cause you to view your food choices in a whole new way. Ask yourself: Is this what I want my contribution to the world to involve?

You will be surprised how willing others are to accommodate your values. Their curiosity will ignite your passion and inspire you to create ways to contribute towards a shift in their diet too.

There will be numerous occasions when you’ll feel left out in social gatherings. No matter how often you are teased or discouraged, STAND TALL! These are opportunities for great strength and power. Remember you are happier and healthier living a vegan lifestyle.

Your photography will lead you to many creative endeavors. But the one that will fill your heart most will honor the life of a client and his family. It is then, you will see the true value of your art.

Go outside, where there are no lights and just look up at the night sky. Notice how you feel. Notice where your thoughts go and discover what wonder means.

You tend to be in relationships because you see a lot of good in that person, but you ignore that you aren’t happy or that you are getting hurt. Learn not to compromise. If something is good, it’s good.

Just because a guy is sweet and adores you, doesn’t mean he’s right for you.

Always ask for what you want and NEED.

Notice who you call at 4am, post breakup, lying on the closet floor. Sometimes all you need is a little heart to heart with your bestfriend and first love.
Don’t be afraid of looking dumb, asking a stupid question, falling on your face, getting rejected or singing the wrong lyrics. We’ll be dead soon.

Over-tip. It will make someone’s day.
You will feel the need to disconnect from society. Instead of heading to the mountains, disconnect your phone service and practice being fully present with the people standing in front of you. Teach by example.
Breathe slowly when you’re scared. Breathe slowly when you’re excited. Breathe slowly when you meditate. Full, deep breaths. Breathing is the key to controlling our flow of energy.
The difference between being good and great is the effort you put in. When you discover you are exceeding the ability of your coworkers, ask for a raise. Own your work ethic! Not everyone has it.
The whole, “don’t make someone a priority when they only make you an option’ is so true. Letting go of friends is difficult but I promise it’ll free you up to give increased love and attention to those more deserving.
Designing a christmas card for your grandma will be one of the highlights of your year. Don’t put it off.
Be kind to yourself, even when you take a step in the wrong direction. You are human, it happens. Turn around and continue moving forward.

I’m so proud of the way you handled life’s challenges this year! Abundant rewards are on their way to you now. I can feel it!! Let’s start 2016 with so much love and laughter we don’t know what to do with it!
